Cross Cultural Jewellery Design Challenge

Collaborative Project with QUT Interior, Architecture and Industrial Students and El Bosque University Colombia. Two wearable pendants designed to collect different internal parts that can only be purchased in certain locations along the road to El Dorado, thus each traveller collects a personalised piece that is sealed once arriving at the Lake Guatavita. Holes along the sides allow for a necklace, bracelet wearable or pendant decoration.
3D printed rapid prototypes at 1:5 Scale.

These prototypes were printed and taken to South America where we work-shopped our ideas with Colombian design students. This was an incredible experience and such a rich opportunity to explore the design culture of another country. As language was sometimes a barrier to expressing creative ideas, we found true value in drawing, modelling and visualisation as a way to bridge the gap and collaborate in the language of design.
